These solvent recycling units are most frequently found in
those laboratories (i) where space is limited,
or (ii) where waste volumes usually are less
than 2 to 5 gallons per day, or (iii) where
high-value solvents, like freons and n-propyl
bromide, are to be recovered.
The solvent recycling units are available with 1 and 2.5 gallon boiling
tanks (4 and 10 liters) and all models employ
fractional distillation in order to obtain
high purities and high recoveries. They are
available with either with automatic, or manual
drains, and the final non-volatile waste must
be a "flowable" material.
