Cost Savings Analysis Calculator
HOW YOU SAVE WITH SOLVENT RECYCLING:| Reduce your new solvent purchases by as much as 95% | |
| Reduce waste solvent disposal costs by as much as 95% | |
| Reduce labor for purchasing, transport and reporting | |
| Reduce space and risks associated with solvent storage |
PAYBACK TIMES:(ROI)
Payback times can be calculated in two ways depending upon whether you purchase or lease the solvent recycler. When purchased, typical payback times range from 8 months to 3 years depending on the size of your recycler and cost of your solvent being recycled. When leasing, payback savings start the first month.

NOTE:
"Waste Percentage" refers to the percentage of waste in the waste solvent.
"Solvent Recovery Factor" refers to the percentage of solvent expected to be recovered from the waste solvent once the Waste Percentage is excluded. The calculator's default is 95%, since the Solvent Recovery Factor typically will range from 90% to 100%. However, this may vary for specific waste mixtures.

FOR HISTOLOGY CUSTOMERS ONLY: Waste xylene in a histology lab usually will have a Waste Percentage of 5%. The recycler may be able to reclaim 98% of the remaining solvent in a histology lab's waste once the Waste Percentage is excluded. This is the "Solvent Recovery Factor". Typically, the Solvent Recovery Factor for waste alcohol in a histology lab is limited to 90% to account for alcohol contaminated with xylene or a xylene substitute, which cannot be recycled. Please note that a histology lab's formalin typically has a Waste Percentage of 20% or less. Consequently, formalin is recycled to recover 80% of the waste formalin. This calculator will calculate savings associated with formalin recycling by imputing a recovery of 80% of the waste formalin, with the remaining 20% being discarded as waste, so long as the Waste Percentage is designated at 20% or less. |
